The word itself is its most modern form derived from the old english words, ġéol or ġéohol and ġéola or ġéoli, with the former indicating "(the 12-day festival of) Yule". Not to bad of an altar considering we were camping at a pagan gathering in North Carolina for Mabon, everyone brought a little bit of something for the altar and it came out very beautiful.

Huh I live in NC and I've never heard of such a thing. Guess I need to keep my eyes open better

I actually like this alter more than the others you see online now a days. This one is definitely more down to earth and back to nature

I have to agree, a lot of altars I see now a days are with 30 dollar statuettes, glimmering tools that haven't even been uses, and precious stones propped up for display. I believe in the wear and tear or used tools and things directly from nature make a beautiful altar. Google serpent stone gatherings and you'll find the website for the Pagan gatherings in NC <3
